Emma Pitt

British Cycling - Community Go-Ride Coach (Leicester)

Biography

I’m Emma Pitt, Go Ride Community Coach in Leicester.

Cycling has always played a big part in my life. I started at the age of 4, riding around the shortest velodrome in the country in Southampton.

I was lucky enough to go a long way through the British Cycling Talent Programme as a rider until I had to stop racing due to injury at junior level. But prior to this competed at national and international level on the track and road.

I started my coaching career, gaining the various qualification and start with British Cycling originally in the Central region in 2018 before moving up to the East Midlands In 2020.

You are likely to see me coaching in the community in Leicester supporting riders new and returning to the sport through to and up to national standard. I have an extensive school’s programme in Leicester and deliver both Ready Set Ride and Go-Ride. I of course support the wonderful clubs in Leicester and take a lead role in the Talent Development Centre for Road at New College.
